Dr. Daniels is Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Idaho State University College of Pharmacy. He was born in Los Angeles, California and received his undergraduate education in chemistry at Humboldt State University, Arcata, California. After completing his master's degree in organic chemistry at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee, he received his PhD in Pharmacology in 1982 from Stanford University School of Medicine. As a Monsanto Toxicology Postdoctoral Fellow he completed postdoctoral studies in biochemistry and cell biology at the University of California - San Francisco Medical Center, he remained with UCSF as an American Federation for Aging Research Fellow in cell biology and research assistant professor until 1988 when he joined the Idaho State University College of Pharmacy. In 1997 he was appointed chairman of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at ISU. Dr. Daniels' research focuses on the effects of aging on the development of lymphoid cancers and the interaction of cellular signals that control cellular proliferation and cell death. His research has been funded by NIH, NSF-EPSCoR, non-profit research institutes, and private companies. Dr. Daniels is the founding director of the new ISU Biomedical Research Institute.
