She actively teaches in the University undergraduate and the graduate degree programs (M.S. and Ph.D.), as well as in the professional Pharm.D. degree program. Her research interests focus on the regulation of metabolism and function in skeletal and cardiac muscle. In particular she investigates how these mechanisms are altered in diabetes or aging and how natural products, pharmacologic agents and exercise improve metabolism or function. Dr. Wilson’s research also encompasses pharmacy practice involvement in disease management for cardiovascular and diabetes diseases. She has successfully sponsored several AACP professional pharmacy student grants for this work.
