Notes for John Willson
John and Mary emigrated on the ship CALIDONIA in 1738. Came to the Scoth-Irish settlement of Plainfield,Ct. Removed to Cornish, N.H. in the late 1760s. Believe the parents lived with son,Thomas, at Windsor,Vt.During the Revolution.Sons Thomas and John were GREEN MOUNTAIN BOYS. DAR Grave marked. John Jr. moved to Herkimer Co. N.Y. in 1790/01 and was the first family in Marcy, N.Y. where he died 29 March 1792. Later three other brothers came to N.Y. Source Willson, Wilson and Allied Lines by Clotilde Wilson Blower Pg 14-17 Addendom XX1 The Cady saga said that County Astria was in protestant North Ireland, His land records in the town clerks office at Plainfield, Conn. are in Vol. 5 Pg 102 and land deed Vol. 4 P 159. They had 11 children nine were boys and all served in the Revelutionary war according to the Cady Saga. He was a Rev War veteran but was 66 to 73 yers old but must have earned the service through committee work according to the Cady Saga.
