| From THE HISTORY OF DESCENDANTS OF J.J. RECTOR He was a man with a remarkable family having 13 children, 9 boys over 6 feet tall and weighing over 200 pounds all born in Virginia. They were Generals, Colonels and Captains in the War of 1812. One was the fourth postmaster of St. Louis, Mo, Ill. Ark,Mo. and Ark William was Surveyor General for three states . Others were senators and legislators in Missouri and four were Governors of the State of Arkansas. A daughter of his daughter married a Conway and two of their sons became governors of Ark. ----------------------------------------------------------------- He moved to Kaskaskia, Ill in 1808 and remained there till his death in1811. |
