| From WILLARD MEMOIR life and times of Major Simon Willard. He was a highlt respectable pease loving man, beloved for his affability and good temper. At one time he was in charge of a company in the Indian wars and was offered a commission of Lieutenant Colonel which he declined. He was put into the commission of the peace by the governor. This was a his high honor. He died in 1732, the last surviving son of Major Simon Willard. |
