Dr. Pettinger is an Assistant Professor at Idaho State University in the Departments of Pharmacy Practice and Administrative Sciences and Family Medicine. She earned her Pharm.D. degree at Idaho State University in 2003 and completed a two-year residency in Primary Care Pharmacotherapy at Idaho State University Department of Family Medicine in June 2005. She joined the ISU pharmacy faculty in the summer of 2005. She became Board Certified in Pharmacotherapy in 2007.

Dr. Pettinger is an Ambulatory Care clinical clerkship preceptor for fourth year pharmacy students and is based in Blackfoot Medical Center. She provides clinical services to BMC in chronic disease management and polypharmacy issues. She also is a clinical investigator for the ACCORD trial at the Department of Family Medicine Clinical Research Center. Her professional interests include diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, anticoagulation, asthma, and heart failure. Dr. Pettinger was honored by the Department of Family Medicine with the Resident Research Award in 2005.
