Dr. Brecon Powell is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Idaho State University College of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmacy Practice and Administrative Sciences. He earned his Pharm.D. degree at ISU and went on to complete a PGY1 residency at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center (EIRMC). During his residency, Dr. Powell focused on receiving additional training in Cardiology, Infectious Disease, Pain Management, Ambulatory Care, and Critical Care (adults and pediatrics). He teaches lectures for the College of Pharmacy, College of Nursing, and the ISU PA program.

In addition, Dr. Powell works as a clinical pharmacist at the EIRMC Wellness Center and Heart Failure Clinic.  Here, he assisted in the development of a clinical rotation site for 4th year pharmacy students in Ambulatory Care. Dr. Powell works directly with practitioners to treat and counsel patients on a variety of topics including, heart failure, diabetes, COPD, asthma, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, anticoagulation, mental health, pain management, and polypharmacy reconciliation.  He is also a mentor and cardiology preceptor for current and future residents at EIRMC.

In his spare time, Dr. Powell enjoys fishing, hunting, backpacking, traveling, playing guitar, snowboarding, reading books, eating exceptional food, and spending time with his wife and daughter.
